Why

Abba’s Child has been providing camp experiences to encourage grieving children for over a decade. A recurring theme in the parent evaluations has been, “Why don’t you do something like this for families too?” We have heard your requests and are excited to now be offering Family Retreats. Our hope is that these faith-based retreats will give your family the opportunity to cherish the memories of your loved one, build new relationships with others experiencing similar grief, and gain a better understanding of what healthy grief looks like. Too often, the death of a loved family member can result in a disruption of family dynamics that may be difficult to overcome. Come share in this journey with us—there will be many present, who have traveled the road before, and long to engage with you in the journey.

What

Our time will be divided into helpful learning sessions for adults and kids, activities that will inspire discovery and free time to simply be. A group of trained therapists and grief coaches will be present and willing to talk with you as individuals or families to help process the journey you are on.

Who

Camp will be filled with special guests who have been traveling the grief journey for many years and families who have just begun after the death of a family member. Our support team is made up of individuals who are empathetic to the trauma of grief and feel called to stand alongside grieving individuals.
