CHILD GRIEF AWARENESS DAY/MONTH – November 21, 2024

Children’s Grief Awareness Day is designed to help us all become more aware of the needs of grieving children — and of the benefits they obtain through the support of others. Children’s Grief Awareness Day is an opportunity to make sure that grieving children receive the support they need.

WAYS TO PARTICIPATE

  • Encourage people in your classroom or office to wear blue on the 21st

  • Decorate doors in your school or office in blue and using butterflies of tribute

  • Tell three people about Childhood Grief Day

  • Use social media to spread the word

  • Raise money to help a grieving child attend an Abba’s Child Grief Camp

  • Create a Wall of Hope – using Blue paper butterflies, give people the chance to write messages of hope, support, and tribute to recognize children in grief and tape them to a specific wall in your school or office.

When you choose to support Abba’s Child you can be sure that you are joining a truly dedicated, generous, and supportive community.

Tip of the week

Walk Alongside

No one should have to grieve alone. Abba’s Child seeks to break the isolation often experienced with peers at home.

Cherish Memories

Memories become the treasure that remains after a loved one dies. Celebrations of cherished memories encourages healing.

Energize Hope

Hope is energized when grieving families interact with others who are successfully navigating the journey of sadness and loss.

Remember to Live

Camp allows kids to laugh, cry, play, create, remember the person who died, and acknowledge the feelings that weigh them down. It is all part of living.

Encourage New Life

Over time we release the pain of loss, but never the power of legacy. Our lives pay tribute to the loved ones we have lost.

Change a life today

We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without the help of our amazing Abba’s Child community. Thanks to our facilitators, volunteers and our generous donors, we have been able to inspire hope in 525 children since the start. To help us in our mission, consider volunteering or donating below.
