About
The concept is simple; place a grieving child in a place where fun and adventure abound; surround them with people who understand and relate to what they are going through; then watch as they begin to open up and talk about their feelings. All of this at no charge to the child. It is a low-pressure, high-energy place of emotional safety where accumulated stresses of grief can be released, memories affirmed and hope restored.
program
Abba’s Child strives to provide an environment where kids can explore their grief, freely talk about the confusing emotions they are experiencing, and have a whole lot of fun. A full day of fun and rewarding activity takes place in the beautiful outdoors, surrounded by accepting peers, supportive counselors and fresh air.
STAFF
Trained camp staff are in charge of the daily activities and the direct supervision of children 24 hours a day. A curriculum on grieving is implemented by trained grief professionals who have experience helping children navigate their grief.
All campers also have access to onsite medical care provided by the camp. Physicians, nurses, and other personnel from area health providers to ensure that medical care is accessible 24 hours a day.
